How do I buy a ticket?

Single tickets and 3-, 4- or 5-opera subscriptions are available by phone, in person or online.

What are the box office hours?

Regular Hours: Mon.- Fri., 9am-6pm

Weekday Performances:  phones are open until curtain.

Weekend Performances:  phones open at 2pm for evening performances and at 10:30am for matinee performances.

Are there single tickets?

Please follow these steps for single tickets:

Select the opera you would like to see and click the blue Buy Tickets button next to the performance you are interested in attending.

In the Seating Chart, view each seating area (Orchestra, Mezzanine, Balcony or Gallery) by using the drop down menu.

Click on seat(s) you would like to purchase and click the Add to Cart button.

Review your order and click the Checkout button.

Log in or Create a new account.

In the Complete My Order section, enter a coupon code (if applicable) and your payment information.

Click the Submit Order button.

 

How do I purchase season tickets?

Please follow the steps below to purchase season tickets:

Click the blue Buy Tickets button next to the type of subscription package you are interested in purchasing.

Select your quantity of subscriptions and click Next.

Using the drop down menus:

  1. Verify and/or select your opera dates
  2. Choose your preferred seating area
  3. Choose your pricing area

After you've made your selections, click the Add to Cart button. 

Review your order and click the Checkout button. 

Log in or Create a new account.

In the Complete My Order section, enter a coupon code (if applicable) and your payment information.

Click the Submit Order button.

 

What are the different seating levels?

A+= premium sight lines and acoustics, centrally located, not under an overhang

A= Ideal sight lines and acoustics, centrally located, not under an overhang.

B= Excellent sight lines and acoustics

C= Prime sight lines and acoustics

D= Great sight lines and acoustics, no obstructions or interference with sight lines

E= Good sight lines and acoustics, no obstructions or interference with sight lines

F= Partial view seating, obstruction interferes with sight line of stage and/or surtitles

How do I pick up tickets at will call?

Tickets are available 90 minutes prior to curtain at the Ordway Box Office. 

 

Are there special discounted tickets available?

A Student/Senior discount is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.  Seniors 62+; students must be full-time.  Call the Minnesota Opera Ticket Office for pricing information.

Are there group discounts available?

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards. (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express).  You can also pay with cash or check in person at the Minnesota Opera Ticket Office.

 

What is the refund, exchange, or cancellation policy?

All sales are final with no refunds.  Any ticket may be returned for a tax deductible donation up until curtain.  We will send a tax receipt to you after the performance acknowledging the value of the ticket, minus and applicable fees.

 

Can I exchange my ticket for a different performance?

Subscribers may make exchanges for a different performance or opera up to 1 hour prior to curtain by calling the Minnesota Opera Ticket Office.  Exchanges are subject to availability.

What if I can't attend?

Season tickets may be exchanged to a different performance date or opera up to 1 hour prior to curtain.  Single tickets are non-exchangeable.  Any ticket may be returned for a tax deductible donation up until curtain.  We will send a tax receipt to you after the performance acknowledging the value of the ticket, minus any applicable fees.

 

What if I lose my ticket?

Call the Ticket Office to replace tickets free of charge.  If you forget your ticket on the way to the Ordway, simply stop by the Box Office and we will reprint your ticket.

 

Are last minute tickets available?

Subject to availability, we offer a public rush at Ordway, 90 minutes prior to curtain. Any remaining seat will be available at 50% off the regular ticket price. We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.  We do not accept gift certificates or discount coupons during rush.

 

Can I get a gift certificate?

Yes, Minnesota Opera gift certificates are available on our website, or by calling the Ticket Office. Gift certificates may be used toward payment for single tickets, season tickets or Opera Up Close events.
